I am descended from Adam and Eve and can prove it. These are my great grandparents through my Dad's mother Dovie Roxanna Morgan.
The tombstone for John McDowell, our first McDowell ancestor in Randolph County was finally located in the early 1980s. He is buried at Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church. The church itself was not established at that time and based on the number of old tombstones in the church cemetery, the cemetery may have just been a local cemetery with no affiliation to the Methodist faith. Most of the families who came from Wake County seem to have had a Primitive Baptist background.
