Green Hill and Nancy Mitchell

Green Hill was born about 1782 in Surry County, Virginia. He later moved into Surry County, NC and died after 1857 in Wake County, NC. He is listed in the 1860 census of Wake County. He was the brother to William Hill of Surry County who became the Secretary of State for North Carolina and served in that role from around 1812 until he (William) died in 1857.  This Green Hill married Nancy Mitchell on June 29, 1803 in Wake County.  She was born around 1781 and died in 1835. They had two known children William R. Hill and Martha Hill. Neither of these children help in the study of Sion Hill and Starage Lee.  In fact, this Green Hill’s presence in Wake County helps to cloud the understanding of the other Green Hills who are in Wake County and move away.

This Green Hill family is NOT the Green Hill who witnessed the Sion Hill and Starage Lee marriage in Johnston County.
